The National Voter Registration Weekend for the 2026 Local Government Elections is underway (Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 June 2026). As outlined in our circular of 17 June 2026, Afrika Mayibuye must treat voter registration as our immediate and primary organisational task.

KeyInstructions forImmediate Action:

  1. Systematic Door-to-Door Campaigns Conduct house-to-house visits. Identify unregistered individuals (especially those turning 18 or who have recently moved), explain the power of the vote, and provide direct, hands-on assistance.
  2. DailyTargetEverymemberandstructuremustassistaminimumof10newvoterregistrations per day until the registration window closes.
  3. Official IEC Online Registration Use your own smartphones, tablets, or laptops to guide voters through the secure IEC portal: https://registertovote.elections.org.za
    1. Ensurethevoter’sdetailsmatchtheirIDdocument exactly.
    1. Assistwithuploading aclearcopy ofthe ID.
    1. Confirmthecorrectvotingdistrictand ward.
    1. FollowuptoensurethevoterreceivesSMS/emailconfirmationfromtheIEC.

Report your daily progress to your immediate command structures. Let us turn this weekend into a powerful demonstration of disciplined, mass-based organisation.

We cannot afford to be passive. This is not the time for waiting at voting stations as party agents. We must go directly to the people — door-to-door, home-to-home — particularly targeting the unemployed, youth, women, elderly, residents of informal settlements, and rural areas who face real barriers to registration.
